The DYOJO SOCKTember - Annual NEW Sock Raising Competition
The DYOJO Socktember 2020
The DYOJO SOCKTember 2021 is a great opportunity for client
outreach, employee engagement, and community goodwill.

The DYOJO SOCKTEMBER 2021 Challenge Has STARTED!

What is The DYOJO SOCKTEMBER?

Our goal was to create a fun annual competitive sock raising event. So last year we reached out to our friends and peers and made it happen. Even with a pandemic, the team leaders and participants found ways to safely raise and collect NEW socks from around the world. It was so awesome to hear the stories of local businesses contributing to local teams, people enjoying the competitive elements, and how happy our local charities were to receive an abundance of NEW socks for the people they serve.

Read the press release from Restoration & Remediation Magazine.

You can participate by:
  • LEADING a local team
  • JOINING a local team
  • Becoming a SPONSOR

Our vision is to have teams all around the world joining us in this annual event. We want to do some good, have some fun, and help promote the efforts of all our teams so that the good vibes spread. We chose NEW socks because
  1. 1) treat others the way you want to be treated - who doesn't LOVE the feeling of a NEW pair of socks? and
  2. 2) it's a simple thing that anyone and everyone can contribute to while also making a huge impact.

How do I get involved with The DYOJO SOCKTEMBER 2021?

What an awesome question! There are four ways to be involved in The DYOJO SOCKTEMBER 2021:
  1. Lead a team - gather your friends, peers, and suppliers and ask them to help you competitively raise as many friggin NEW socks as you can. You choose your team name and how you will promote your efforts, we promote you. See samples of team names below from our 2020 event. Due date 2 weeks prior to start of event.
  2. Join a team - reach out to The DYOJO and see if there is a team in your area, contact the team captain and find out how you can help them to raise as many gosh dang NEW socks as humanly possible in the month of September 2021. Always open.
  3. Contribute directly - we strongly encourage you to either lead or join the closest team to you, as competitions are best competed with teams competing. BUT our objective is to raise so many heckin NEW socks that local charities will be stocked for months, so we won't turn anyone away. Each team will have an Amazon link and/or you can send NEW socks through the event link. Always open.
  4. Become a sponsor - we do everything in our power to ensure all focus and resources go towards the objective of raising insane quantities of NEW socks to distribute to local charities, so we have been resistant even to creating t-shirts. But there are some costs such as promotion (boosting ads, etc), trophies, and this year (hopefully) an in-person celebration.

When does The DYOJO SOCKTEMBER competitive sock-raising season kick off?

We start officially raising NEW socks the beginning of September and complete final counts around the end of the first week of October. This year, if we can pull it off, we would like to host an in-person celebration at the conclusion of the event (STAY TUNED).

As a team captain, you lead your team and execute your strategy for raising NEW socks from partners throughout your market. As you post and promote your team efforts on social media, The DYOJO will echo and promote your team efforts. What better excuse is there to reach out to clients, partners, and peers than to engage them in this effort of doing good?

When is the SOCKTember 2021 New Sock-Raising Season?

August 2021 - The Pre-Season:
Teams form in local communities to raise NEW socks by reaching out to clients, vendors, friends, and community partners.

September 2021 - The Season:
Teams collect NEW socks. We have a weekly count of NEW socks raised by all teams, keeping with the competitive spirit.

October 2021 - The Post-Season:
We perform a final official count of NEW socks raise and this year we plan to announce the WINNER at a LIVE local event in Tukwila, Washington on Friday, October 22, 2021. Local teams distribute NEW socks to local charities that they want to support.
